Diets
We feed our dogs the B.A.R.F. (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food) diet. I have done my research and most pet foods contain a long list of additives, preservatives and grain products. The BARF diet is comprised of foods that you or I would eat. I suggest that before you fill your Rottweiler's bowl full of kibble you do your own research on the BARF diet. There are tons and tons of websites dedicated to informing you on the BARF diet. After the recent scares from the dry food companies, I had to make a change. I have been extremely impressed with the results feeding raw, and NO it will not make your dog mean and vicious!!
Morning:
1/2 lb. - 3/4 lb. of Raw Meat (ground chicken with bones, ground beef with bones, ground lamb, etc.)
4 oz. of Canned Fish (Mackerel or Salmon)
1 tablespoon veggie glop
(I take sweet potatoes, carrots, cabbage, spinach, garlic etc. boil shortly and mash into a pulp mix with some fruits like apple sauce, berries, etc. - mix all together and store in Tupperware)
1 tablespoon yogurt or cottage cheese (plain yogurt)
1 tablespoon oats (soak QuakerOats in water for about 5 min)
1 tablespoon dried kelp
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon hemp oil / wild salmon oil
1 pinch fresh minced garlic
200mg Vitamin E
500mg Vitamin C
Evening:
2 -3 chicken backs (yes, with bone!)
Yes, my puppies receive this diet as well, I do however mix a small amount of kibble for puppies so when they go to their new homes they do not have to continue with the raw diet.
